The Windsor Difference
Built to define a new standard in the industry, Windsor has been the caravan of choice for Australians for decades.
Making its mark with the Genesis touring series, its industry-leading reputation continues with the new Wild semi-off-road series. With robust and insulative exteriors, spacious and fully equipped interiors, multiple bedding options, and a van full of features and appliances, quality, functionality, innovation, and affordability combine in the Windsor caravan range
Crafted in Apollo’s 20,000m2 purpose-built facility in Brisbane, the Genesis touring and Wild semi-off-road models are Australian-designed and engineered and built in Australia for Australian conditions. Combine all of this with a leading industry warranty, and your next adventure is just a horizon away. Both models also offer a range of optional extras, so you can customise your van your way.
Windsor FAQs
A caravan is essentially an unpowered trailer. It needs a powered vehicle to move from one place to another, and although unpowered, caravans can be plugged into power outlets. They typically have a small generator or battery pack to power fridges, lights, other kitchen appliances, and basic bedding, seating, and bench spaces. Some also have a toilet and shower. A motorhome is a large vehicle built on a long wheelbase, including cooking and bedding facilities, and often dining areas and a toilet/shower. Motorhomes are more accessible for driving and manoeuvre. They are popular with those who don’t want to be bothered with a hitch.
The Windsor Genesis range is built to last with an Australian-designed hot-dipped galvanised steel chassis, a 6-inch RHS drawbar, AL-KO 15mm ball coupling, and electric drum brakes. They will easily tackle diverse terrains with their AL-KO independent rubber suspension. They have single-piece composite panel construction on the floor, roof, and walls to provide stability and durability, and panels feature an insulative foam core. Interior and exterior walls also have a resilient gel coating, and checker plates protect the front and side, offering long-lasting protection against the elements.
The Genesis range has a separate ensuite and flushing toilet, a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, a 3+1 electric/gas stove, a microwave, and a dinette. A washing machine and reverse cycle air conditioning are available on some models, with LED lighting, a Bluetooth stereo system, and a DVD/TV. Bed-wise, there are also options, with some models featuring only a queen-size bed and others including bunk beds for kids or additional adults.
Both are well-known international vehicle brands. The Flinders and Simpson models are built on a Fiat Ducato chassis that offers a smooth and powerful ride with its 9-speed fully automatic gearbox. It also provides the bonus of being able to drive on a standard car licence. The Daintree model is built on a Renault Master 6-speed automated manual powered by a 2.3L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. It is an intercooled direct injection diesel with a 100-litre diesel fuel tank.
